River Run Dog Park, LLC
River Run Dog Park, LLC is pleased to offer an area for local dog
owners to bring their dogs to run and play, as well as socialize
with other dogs. The approximately 6-acre park offers numerous trees
and shrubs throughout the gently rolling landscape along with water
access to the Crawfish River on its western boundary. There is also
a smaller enclosed area inside the park reserved for puppies, small
dogs, and dogs with special needs. The park
opened in September 2005.
To keep your pet safe and be considerate of other park users, please
read and obey the following rules and regulations:
Permits:
An annual permit (valid January 1 -December 31) is
required. Permits and dog park tags can be purchased at CCVC during
regular business hours (Mondays & Wednesdays 8-7:30pm; Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Fridays 8-5pm; Saturdays 8-12).
• $40 per year for 1 dog
• $15 per year for each additional dog
• Daily permits are available for $3 per day for 1 dog and $1 per
dog for each additional dog. Day permits are available at CCVC
or at the park in the kiosk.
Hours of Operation:
Dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, year-round
Leash Policy:
River Run Dog Park is an off-leash facility. Dogs however must be
kept on a leash until inside the park area. All dogs must be under
complete voice control and within eyesight of the owner. If you
cannot control your pet off-leash you will need to keep your pet
leashed at all times for the safety and enjoyment of all users.
Vaccinations:
A current rabies certificate and tag is required, therefore dogs must be over 3 months of age to enjoy the park.
RRDP does not require but strongly recommends current (within past
12 months) vaccinations for the following diseases:
• 6-way Distemper (Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Lepto (4 serotypes),
Parvo)
• Corona Virus
• Bordetella (kennel cough)
RRDP also recommends routine fecal
examinations as recommended by your veterinarian.
Identification:
A required ID tag must be worn by the pet
Clean Up:
• You are responsible to pick up ALL fecal matter from your dog.
• Bags and waste receptacles are provided (at no charge) at
several locations in the park
Water Access:
The park does have gated access to the Crawfish River (approximately 300
ft. along the west side). You are responsible should your dog enter
the water. Do not allow your dog to go beyond the fence line (on the
north and south end of the park) and do not allow your dog to exit
the river on the other bank of the river (all of these areas are
private property and access to them could jeopardize the river
access to everyone).
Injury/Liability:
• RRDP is not responsible for any injury to the pet or the owner
while using the park.
• A waiver of liability will need to be signed at the time of
purchasing the annual permit.
Dog Conflicts:
Any altercations between dogs must be reported to CCVC during
regular business hours or in writing to CCVC at PO Box 336,
Columbus, WI 53925.
Aggressive Dogs:
• Aggressive dogs are required to be leashed at all times.
• If a dog is aggressive towards another dog and the incident is
reported to CCVC, that dog is only allowed in the park while on a
leash less than 6' long.
• If a second aggressive incident is reported, those dogs will be
restricted from the park by revoking their permits.
Additional Information:
We encourage all owners to not allow their dogs to dig. This creates holes which can be a hazard for not only other dogs, but people as well.
The RRDP does not provide drinking water for the dogs. Many users
bring their own water source.
These rules are set up to make the park a pleasant experience for
both the dogs and their owners. Any violations of these rules can
cause problems (both physical and health aspects) and jeopardize the
experience for everyone. If you see any violations occurring please
report them in writing to CCVC, PO Box 336, Columbus, WI 53925.
All rules/regulations and fees are subject to change. (2/10)
